Former Dancing with the Stars co-host Samantha Harris reveals to People magazine that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and will undergo a double mastectomy later this month.  After detecting a lump in her breast during a self-examination, the 40-year old, mother of two had a mammogram that came back clear, but still felt something wasn’t right. She consulted a specialist, who performed a needle biopsy and lumpectomy and discovered that she did indeed have cancer. “I felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest,” said Samantha.   She could have opted for the less radical lumpectomy with radiation, but decided to have the double mastectomy. “I was sick of feeling the way that I did in the days after the diagnosis,” she said. “I knew I needed to take control. I felt so much calmer.”
