We're going to bet that the next time KTLA-TV's Sam Rubin interviews Samuel L. Jackson, he'll be better prepared. E! Online reports that Jackson was expecting to promote his latest film, "Robocop" on the morning show. But when Rubin asked him about a Super Bowl commercial he appeared in, everything changed -- and not for the better. See, it wasn't Jackson at all, but Laurence Fishburne. And that's where it got ugly because Samuel wasn't taking, "My bad," for an answer.
Even though Rubin tried to apologize profusely, Jackson wasn't having it. He said, "We don't all look alike! We may be all Black and famous, but we don't all look alike!" He proceeded to take him through the ringer. Jackson said, "You're busted. You're the entertainment reporter? And you don't know the difference between me and Laurence Fishburne? There must be a very short line for your job." Jackson then proceeded to run down all the Black guys who're doing commercials. He ended his rant by saying, "I've actually never done a McDonald's or Kentucky Fried Chicken commercial. I know that's surprising. And I'm the only Black guy in 'Robocop' that's not a criminal."
Rubin apologized on the air after that exchange, and he also tweeted about it. In other news, anchors -- including Piers Morgan -- are making sure that they don't mistake Jackson for Laurence Fishburne.
