It's no secret that musicians get paid huge fees for performances at special events, but the Super Bowl has long been one exception where artists are expected to perform for free. It's not THAT crazy, considering the amount of promotion the artists gets from the performance in front of millions of people.
But now the NFL wants artists to PAY THEM to perform during Super Bowl XLIX!
The Wall Street Journal reports that for the 2015 halftime show, the NFL is considering Coldplay, Rihanna, and Katy Perry (all great choices in my opinion!) but wants them to pay up.
The NFL allegedly asked if these artists “would be willing to contribute a portion of their post-Super Bowl tour income to the league, or if they would make some other type of financial contribution, in exchange for the halftime gig.”
I can't imagine that happening... what do you think? Comment with your thoughts below!
