Florida Cop Accused Of Selling Police-Issued Weapons To Pawn Shop

A Florida police officer was arrested after officials discovered two weapons and numerous laser sights were missing during a routine audit. Officials accused 33-year-old Yan Kleyman of selling the missing guns and accessories to a pawnbroker.

Hallandale Beach Police Chief Sonia Quinones said that Kleyman made 15 different transactions at a pawn shop from March 2017 to August 2018. She identified the two weapons that Kleyman is accused of illegally selling as a semi-automatic rifle and a pistol.

Kleyman, who worked at the department since 2011, was fired upon his arrest. He has been charged with dealing in stolen property and is being held on $3,500 bond.

"Mr. Kleyman's alleged actions are not reflective of the dedicated men and women of this agency," Quinones said in a statement.
