Kanye West Hosts Sunday Service In Dayton To Support Mass Shooting Victims

2019 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival - Weekend 2 - Day 3

On Sunday (August 25), Kanye West held a special edition of his weekly Sunday Service in Dayton, Ohio just weeks after a mass shooting took the lives of nine people outside a local bar. As TMZ reports, the rapper's wife Kim Kardashian made the trip with him, along with at least two of their kids: North and Saint.

"In support of the victims and survivors of the Dayton mass shooting," Kim tweeted alongside a link to the live stream. Chris Rock and Dave Chapelle were also reportedly in attendance, with the latter eventually taking the stage.

"We're still here and we're still strong," he said about the tough times the community has recently endured. "And the only way, but not the only way, but the BEST WAY that we can honor our fallen is by getting up better than we were before." He then thanked Kanye for coming to the city and said he and Dayton will always have his back.

Chapelle, who has been a longtime resident of nearby Yellow Springs, Ohio, is also hosting a block party and benefit concert tonight in honor of the victims.
