Lifetime Reunites 'Facts of Life' Cast For New Holiday Movie

The Facts of Life

As holiday-themed movie fans know, Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas begins on Friday (October 25). While Hallmark is known for their holiday movies, Lifetime is going to give them a run for their money this year. A new Lifetime holiday movie was just announced and there's a major surprise: Light Up My Christmas stars the Facts of Life cast for the first time in years. Best Christmas present ever, right?

Kim Fields, Mindy Cohn, Lisa Whelchel and Nancy McKeon will share the small screen again when Light Up My Christmas airs on December 1st. According to Entertainment Weekly, Light Up My Christmas is based on the true story of Emma (Fields), a woman who helps remind her hometown about the importance of embracing the holidays spirit.

Fields, who is producing the TV movie, spoke with People about reuniting with her Facts of Life co-stars, saying “it’s been amazing to work together again and have the ladies’ input on their characters from their wardrobe to names, as well as provide fun inside jokes for fans."

While reuniting with Cohn, Whelchel and McKeon was a wonderful experience, the Facts of Life ladies were missing their co-star Charlotte Rae, who passed away in 2018. Fields made sure to include Rae is a special way, though. “I also had the production name the ice-skating rink in the movie after our dear friend,” she told People. "We truly are a family so it was great to work together on something new!”

Facts of Life originally aired from 1979-1988 and followed a group of young women living at an all-female boarding school: Blair (Whelchel), Tootie (Fields), Natalie (Cohn) and Jo (McKeon). Will you be tuning in to Lifetime's Light Up My Christmas for this special Facts of Life cast reunion?
