Sibongile Mani, like many other college students, wasn't exactly rolling in money...until a financial aid mix up made her a millionaire.
Mani is a student at South Africa's Walter Sisulu University and qualified for $108 in aid, which is supposed to go toward food and books. One day, Mani discovered more $1.08-million in her account instead.
The 27-year-old student went on a spending spree, buying herself nice things and throwing lavish surprise parties for her friends. By the time Mani was stopped two-months after the massive payday, she was spending $860 a day.
Mani claims she tried to report the mix up and reminds her critics that she wasn't the one who made the mistake. The student could face theft charges and, according to school spokesperson, she'll have to pay back what she spent... about $65-thousand.
