Food labeling is getting absolutely out of hand. Companies everywhere are marking their food products with “organic” or “GMO free” to entice people to buy the product - even if it’s not necessary or true. What’s next? “Premium” water. This water is free of GMOs, gluten, and hormones – three things that water never actually had to begin with.
But these products tend to have a higher price tag, too. So sure, the rich health freaks out there will snap it up, but it’s not like it’s actually doing anything for their diets. So what’s the real problem with this besides making foods more expensive?
Labeling foods as “GMO free” or “no gluten” suggests that we shouldn’t be having either of those things when in reality, neither is all that bad for us (unless you have a gluten allergy).
So the “gluten free” water is – as we expected – just a load of expensive crap. Figures!
