Parents Are Throwing Their Daughters “Period Parties”
Wave goodbye to the stigma, because parents are now throwing “period parties” for their teenage daughters. And party favors include packs of tampons, sanitary towels and uterus-shaped cakes. Period parties focus on educating young girls about menstruation and teaching them the lessons they may not receive in sex education classes at school. It’s intended to be an open space, where girls can discuss starting their period, ask questions and debunk any myths they may have heard from friends (like the age-old “can you get pregnant while on your period?”) It’s not just about education, though. Many young girls often feel apprehensive about starting their period. For parents, period parties are about making the occasion something to celebrate, rather than fear.

Headache Selfies Are Now Trending On Social Media - We’re not sure why, but pretending to look like you have a headache is the latest selfie trend.
Naturally Gigi and Bella Hadid, along with Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski tried the look, so it will be spreading. It’s actually being called the migraine pose. You put your to your face with fingers on temple…and there you go.
Not everyone is happy about it. That would be people who actually suffer from migraines. One woman noted that jenner’s group “have no idea what a migraine actually looks like. The pose they’re doing is more like ‘oh, I have low blood sugar and a slight headache.’ ”

High-heeled Crocs now exist: While Crocs are pretty comfortable, they aren’t exactly stylish, and that certainly holds true for the newest edition to their shoe line. The plastic shoe company has just come out with high-heeled crocs and they are pretty awful, although apparently pretty popular. They come in two colors, black and platinum, and wild orchid, with the wild orchid option almost sold out. They aren’t exactly cheap either, ranging in price from $80 to $225. Source: New York Post
The Perseid Meteor Shower “Show” Starts Today - The most popular meteor shower of the year is making its debut.
The Perseid [[ PUR-see-id ]] meteor shower begins tomorrow. Scientists say Earth will pass through the path of Comet Swift-Tuttle from July 17th to August 24th, with the shower's peak set to happen on August 12th. But, viewers can still catch meteor action before or after the peak time.
The meteor shower can be seen best from the Northern Hemisphere and down to the mid-southern latitudes. Dust and debris from Comet Swift-Tuttle is what causes the Perseid meteor shower. The solid particles can range from the size of a grain of sand to a few millimeters. Source: Orange Media Network
