It’s been a whirlwind year for Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson, to say the least. After dating rumors and an eventual engagement in July, we learned of a breakup just a few weeks ago. However, they both seem to be moving on. For Ariana, that means making music.
Ariana dropped a new song Saturday night titled “thank u next,” in which she references a number of past boyfriends, including Ricky Alvarez, Mac Miller, and Davidson. “Wrote some songs about Ricky, now I listen and laugh,” she sings. “Even almost got married and for Pete, I’m so thankful.”
Many people think that the release of this song, which was just 30 minutes prior to Saturday’s episode of Saturday Night Live, was intentional. The song, which she talked about this week on Twitter, is reportedly part of a new album that she is working on and includes a line about her late-ex Mac Miller.
