Are You A Night Owl? It May Be Unhealthy!

As a night owl I was really scared when I read this: Staying up late and lying in could increase your risk of mental illness, experts have warned. Night owls are at greater risk of depression and schizophrenia, new findings suggest. Scientists found being a “morning person” could protect against the conditions. People who go to bed early and wake up early report higher mental wellbeing, the University of Exeter researchers said. The only thing I have going for me is that I do wake up early every morning.

  • Do you think being a night owl has something to do with your depression?

College Reveal Parties Are A New Trend

These days it seems soon-to-be parents don’t wait until baby is born to find out if it’s a boy or a girl anymore and they don’t just tell their loved ones to start buying pink or blue onesies, they throw elaborate gender reveal parties to make the announcement. Well, that reveal party is catching on and now the teens want in on the fun, too, so college reveal parties are a thing.

Much like a gender reveal celebration, a college reveal party includes cake and decorations, usually color-coordinated to go with the chosen learning institution’s colors. But most importantly is the big announcement where the high school senior shares their choice of college with their friends and family.

It’s it a bit over the top? Sure. But some argue that if the family can afford it, why not celebrate the student’s achievement like this if it’s important to them. But with college tuition expenses just a few months away, not all families can afford to throw a blow-out bash just to tell everyone where their kid is going to college. And there’s nothing wrong with going old-school and just sharing the important decision over a family dinner, no balloons or confetti required.

Pizza Hut Giving Free Pies & Super Bowl Tickets To First Baby Born After Kickoff

This marks the first year Pizza Hut is the official pizza sponsor of the NFL and they’re making the most of it ahead of the Super Bowl. The chain has announced plans to “overdeliver” to the family of the first baby born after the game gets underway this Sunday.

Pizza Hut says it will give a year of free pizza to the family of the first baby born after the kickoff in the big game between the Patriots and the Rams on Sunday, February 3rd. And they’re also giving them tickets to next year’s Super Bowl! So that’s a lot of incentive to get that baby born right after kickoff. Check out the official rules for all the details and good luck, pregnant ladies.
