What You Need To Know About That Avocado Recall

Before you bite into that avocado toast, you should know that whole avocados are being recalled because of a possible listeria contamination. Henry Avocado Corporation is voluntarily recalling both organic and non-organic varieties sold in Arizona, California, Florida, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Wisconsin, according to the FDA. No one has gotten sick yet, but the recall went into effect after a routine inspection at the company’s packing facility in California tested positive for the bacteria.

Avocados from Mexico are not included in the recall and shoppers in the six states listed should look for two types of stickers to identify the affected products. Organic avocados are labeled “organic” and have “California” on the sticker, while conventional products - the non-organic ones - have a “Bravocado” label on the sticker. If you think yours are at risk, throw them out or return them to the store you bought them for a refund.

Do You Love Your Dog So Much You’d Clone Another Version of Him or Her To Have The Same Dog Forever?

Mom-of-four Amy Vangemert recently shelled out over $50,000 to clone her toy poodle Buhner and is so thrilled with the results she’s promised to do it again. The Seattle resident said she chose to clone Buhner, 13, when the thought of him passing away made her cry every day. She now has three identical copies of her mutt after contacting the same Texas company that cloned Barbra Streisand’s pooch in 2017. Vangemert says she’ll repeat the procedure every few years to keep Buhner alive forever. “I would clone over and over again,” she told the Daily Mail.

Experimental Male Contraception Pill Shown to Be Safe in Early Trial

A male contraceptive pill, long a goal of men -- and women -- everywhere, may be one step closer to reality, U.S. researchers report. They say their experimental pill appears to be safe while reducing levels of hormones key to sperm production.

"Our results suggest that this pill, which combines two hormonal activities in one, will decrease sperm production while preserving libido," said study co-senior investigator Dr. Christina Wang. She's professor of medicine at Los Angeles Biomed Research Institute at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, Calif. "Safe, reversible hormonal male contraception should be available in about 10 years," Wang said in a news release from the Endocrine Society.

  • Would you put your son on the pill if you thought he was sexually active?

How Long Does It Take For Couples To Define A Relationship?

When you start dating someone new there’s always that awkward question of when exactly things have progressed enough to start defining your relationship. I mean while some people may be okay with using boyfriend and girlfriend after a couple of dates, not everyone is down with that.

So, just how long does it take couples to have "The Talk" about their relationship? Well, according to a new poll by EdenFantasys, it takes the average couple six weeks to define their relationship, although the survey indicates that may actually be too long to wait. In fact, 40% of Americans feel they waited too long to put a label on their relationship, which resulted in one member of the couple finding something on the side.

And while you’d think putting a label on the relationship would come before other couple milestones that seems to not be true at all. It seems 73% of Americans say they had their first kiss before labeling at least one relationship, while 50% actually said “I love you” before slapping a label on their partnership. What’s more, 60% of folks say they had sex before labeling a relationship at least once, with the average American noting that sex actually comes five weeks before they define their relationship.

  • But bringing up the subject of defining a relationship can be a tricky one though. The survey suggests you can bring up the subject after the fifth date, but it’s important not to rush things, with 42% of Americans saying they lost a partner because they were over eager to define their relationship.
