A new Airbnb has become available that some folks may find appealing, reportsABC30.com. A giant potato sculpture built to promote Idaho's spud farmers has been converted into the Big Idaho Potato Hotel, a single-room accommodation just outside Boise, Idaho. The entire sculpture measures 28 feet long, 12 feet wide and 11 and a half feet tall and weighs six tons.
It was built by the Idaho Potato Commission for its 75th anniversary in 2012. According to theAirbnb listing, “This is the original potato that traveled countless miles across the country for the Idaho Potato Commission on the back of a semi-truck.” The steel, plaster and concrete sculpture was retired when the commission decided to build a new version of the Big Idaho Potato.
The potato-shaped room is fully insulated and it has a wood floor, electricity, running water, heating and air conditioning. The room contains a queen-sized bed, two chairs and an antler chandelier. It is listed on Airbnb for $200 a night.
