Marie Kondo,the Japanese organizing guru, has already gotten lots of grown-ups to de-clutter their homes with her bestselling book, “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up,” and now she’s spreading her message to kids. She’s reached a huge audience with her book and hit Netflix show, “Tidying Up with Marie Kondo” and as a mother of two herself, now she wants to share her ideas with a younger audience.
Kondo hasofficially announcedher new children’s book, which is co-written and illustrated bySalina Yoon, on Instagram. She writes that Kiki and Jax is a “timeless story about friendship” and that she hopes the “characters will inspire children and families to tidy and embrace joy.”
The story is about two best friends:Kiki, who’s a collector, andJax, who’s a sorter. When Kiki’s “things” get in the way, they have to find space for the thing that sparks the most joy - their friendship.
