Residents of Coal Grove, Ohio awoke to hot pink tap water on Monday.
We’re guessing the reaction was what you’d expect… a freak out. Officials first told the town to not drink the water, then they found out the cause of the odd color. A malfunction in the water treatment plant sent too much of one chemical used to treat the water into the outgoing water.
The water was then deemed fine to drink, but not to wash clothes in. The pink will go away once it’s flushed through the pipes. Meanwhile, if you see a town full of people wearing pink clothes, don’t be surprised.
