"Super-Earth" Detected 31 Light-Years Away From Solar System
A "super-Earth" has been discovered by astronomers – it’s about 31 light-years away from our own solar system. The potentially habitable planet orbits a dwarf sun about every 56 days and is about six times larger than Earth.
Does that mean this planet could support human life? Maybe. Astronomers believe the "super-Earth" could maintain liquid water on its surface with a thick atmosphere, though without that atmosphere, the planet would be more glacial than habitable.
Telescopes are expected to begin orbiting the "super-Earth" in 2021.
