How early is too early to decorate for Christmas? Survey says...

Christmas commercials have already started airing, and chances are you're already seeing holiday-themed displays at some stores...So how early isTOOearly to start getting ready for the holidays?

According to a poll of 2,000 Americans commissioned by photo site Minted.com, 43% say putting up their decorations before November 1 is perfectly fine.

In fact, three in 10 people said they don't mind seeing those decorations pop up after Halloween.

Nearly half of all respondents revealed that seeing holiday decorations in shops marked the official start to the holiday season. So take that, Scrooges.

And while local news loves covering feverish "last-minute shopping" stories, more than half -- 57% -- say they've already started their holiday shopping at that point.

Eight in 10 start preparing for the holidays even before the leaves change, the poll noted -- which means these holiday preppers were already shopping between New Year's and Labor Day!

What's not surprising, though, is that 21% of the male respondents wait until December to start their shopping, compared to 14% of women.

The ship is preparing for a season of expedition cruises in Antarctica. Two more hybrid-powered ships will debut in the next two years.

Man Leaves Fortune To People Who Attended His Funeral

Dennis Valstadpassed away a few months ago in Ripon, Wisconsin and since he had no wife or kids, he didn’t expect much of a turnout at his funeral. Anyone who attended the funeral for the local dry cleaner was probably surprised to get a letter from his attorney, but what was inside was even more of a shock.

Valstad seemed to be a man of modest means, but over his 69 years, he amassed a small fortune and with no family to leave it to, he left unique instructions for handling his estate. His will explains that his $500,000 was to be divided equally among the people who went to his funeral. There were 275 of them and now they’re all getting about $1,800 from Valstad’s half-million dollar estate just for coming to pay their respects.

First Ever All-Female Spacewalk Happening This Month

The first all-female spacewalk is set to happen on October 21stwith astronautsChristina KochandJessica Meir, after a previous attempt was postponed because of a “spacesuit availability” issue. NASA has confirmed that the first all-female spacewalk will be part of a series of 10 planned spacewalks, which they’re calling a “spacewalk bonanza.” These start this week and will be continuing over the next three months, according to the space agency.

Both Koch and Meir have both trained in medium-sized suits and it’s been confirmed that two medium suits will be available for their spacewalk.Brandi Deanwith NASA’s Public Affairs Office explains that they do their best to anticipate the sizes of spacesuits astronauts will need based on the sizes they wore while training on the ground, but sizes may change when they’re in orbit because of the effects of microgravity on the body.

Koch will be doing three spacewalks in October and she’ll stay on the International Space Station until February 2020, which will make her time there the longest single spaceflight by a woman. Meir will spend over six months on the station. The women have been training together for the last six years and we’re ready to see them make history in the first all-female spacewalk.
