Study: What Makes People Happier Than Money?

The benefits of routine exercise have been well documented. Blaring headlines tout weight loss, muscle gain, lower cholesterol, improved mental health, sharper focus, stronger bones and a stronger heart, among other improvements.

But a new study has shown that exercise may actually be more important to happiness than wealth. In a large survey of 1.2 million Americans, researchers from Yale and Oxford universities have shown that people who exercise are markedly happier than people who don’t — even if they have less income.

  • What makes you happier than a big paycheck?
  • Do you think exercise improves your quality of life over materialistic things?
  • If you hate working out, what do you do to motivate yourself?

Break Out The Tumblers. The Price Of Wine Is Dropping Fast

The price of wine is expected to drop to its lowest levels in five years thanks, in part, to a surplus of California grapes.

Combined with a decreased demand for wine, drinkers can expect to get better value for every drop they drink this year. The cheaper prices may even last up to three years.

Rob McMillan, founder of Silicon Valley Bank's Wine Division and author of the annual State of the Wine Industry report, predicts US wine consumers will enjoy the "best wine retail values in 20 years."

The Mullet Hairstyle Is Making A Comeback

If you’ve been paying attention to celebrity hair trends, you may have noticed a surprising cut on the rise. Thanks to singers likeMiley CyrusandKeshasporting the ‘do, the mullet is back. Yes, the short-on-top and long-in-back style is all the rage once again, for stars and regular people, too.

This “business in the front, party in the back” haircut was laughable when David Spade’s “Joe Dirt” character had one, but stylists say the mullet has become pretty popular these days. New York City hairstylistVincent Minchellisays a few years ago, he only did the cuts here and there, but now, he’s doing five to eight mullets a week. And they’re mostly on women.

Hair pros say the cut is versatile and easy to style, which makes it a good option for those who are tired of using a flatiron or curling iron. And while some of us can’t let go of the mullet’s embarrassing past, Minchelli says, “You can make a modern version that’s pretty, sexy, and elegant.”
