Want To Be More Productive? Start Listening To Music At Work

Don’t take this as your excuse to install a subwoofer under your desk, but after this new study goes viral, your boss may just put one there for you.Apparently music might be the key to people actually getting work done around the office.

Researchers have found that listening to music at work makes us more productive. Experts say it’s due to music's power to relieve our stress and motivate us at the same time. Which is kind of like a superpower. If that were the side effects of some pill, we’d probably all be on it.

For the best results, the study recommended listening to pop or rock music. But don’t go too heavy on the rock side. They found heavy metal overall to be distracting.Probably all the time spent moshing instead of working.

Starbucks Bans BYO Cups Over Coronavirus Fears

Starbucks is banning “for here” ceramic mugs and reusable personable cups as a precautionary measure against the deadly coronavirus.

The coffee giant, which had to close 4,000 of its stores in China at the start of the outbreak, will still give a 10 cent discount for anyone who brings their own cup or asks for a mug — though they’ll be given a more-sanitary paper cup anyway.

“Our focus remains on two key priorities: Caring for the health and well-being of our partners and customers and playing a constructive role in supporting local health officials and government leaders as they work to contain the virus,” executive vice-president of U.S. retail Rossann Williams wrote in a blog post. This week, the coffee chain also stepped up cleaning efforts, telling workers to spend about half an hour on deeper cleaning, which the company wants staff to perform during peak times.
