How You Can Help Others During The Coronavirus Pandemic

Instead of feeling helpless from the coronavirus, let’s get helpful.Millennials are not in the vulnerable category so we’re probably the best suited to help out or family and friends. Obviously, we’ve got to keep on social distancing and handwashing but here’s some more way we can help out.

  • Check-in with high-risk friends and relatives.Know someone that falls into the vulnerable categories for COVID-19? TheCDCsays older adults and people who have serious medical conditions like heart disease, diabetes, or lung disease are the most at risk with this virus. Call your Grandparents and see if you can get anything from them at the store or make up a care package for your diabetic neighbor.
  • Donate blood.Unless you’ve traveled to a coronavirus risk area, been in contact with or been infected by the virus, you could go donate blood. There’s always a need for it and the Red Cross will usually give you a sticker so it’s a win-win.
  • Donate to a food bank.Sure you could hoard all your canned beans or you could give some to the food banks in your area that are likely running low. Check with your local pantries and see what they need. If you don’t have much to spare there’s probably a way to give them a monetary donation instead.
  • Support small businesses.Lots of small businesses are struggling since people are staying home. Think local and buy some things off their online store or a gift card to use once this whole thing has blown over.

Granny Chic Is New Hot Look For Millennial’s

Have you seen any young people dressing like grandmas lately? No, it isn’t for Halloween or any other holiday! The newest fashion trend for millennials is called “granny chic.” Others are dubbing it a “grandmillennial” style. The trend has many younger people looking through thrift shops or even their grandmother’s closets. They’re dressing in vintage pieces, and honestly look straight out of The Golden Girls! Many outfits include crochet sweaters, glasses with eyeglass chains, brooches, and clip-on earrings. While some are shopping vintage stores, many are buying items off of Etsy. Etsy is a great place to find handmade items. It isn’t just the grandmother fashion that is on-trend. Typical ‘grandma’ activities and hobbies are also on the rise, including knitting and crocheting.

  • What do you think about this new trend? Cute or distasteful?
  • Guys do you find women who dress like granny’s sexy?

Study: 20 Minutes Less On Facebook Can Make Us Happier & Healthier

Ever feel like your social media habit is out of control and the only solution is to quit altogether? Lots of us have caught ourselves scrolling and wondered if we were spending too much time on Facebook or Instagram, but before you delete your account, get this - anew studyfinds that cutting back just a few minutes comes with all kinds of benefits that make us happier and healthier.

Researchers from Germany found that small changes can make a big impact when it comes to social media use. Their study of around 300 people who use Facebook an average of an hour a day shows that spending just 20 minutes less on it for two weeks leads to personal improvements including more physical activity, fewer depressive symptoms, and feeling more satisfied with life overall.

After two weeks, participants reported that cutting back also helped ease their symptoms of addiction towards Facebook. This suggests that scrolling may be a habit we can break pretty quickly. Researchers report that the positive effects continued and the improvements lasted until the final check-in three months after the experiment.
