Most national parks are open right now so people who are tired of being cooped up at home have a place to go and now visiting one is free. Secretary of the InteriorDavidBernhardthas told the National Park Service to waive the entrance fees at the parks that are still open during the coronavirus outbreak.
The hope is that not having to pay to get in will encourage people to get out in nature while following social distancing recommendations. Bernhardt says, “This small step makes it a little easier for the American public to enjoy the outdoors in our incredible National Parks.”
Some national parks are temporarily closed and you can get the latest information from the National Park Servicehere.
