Designer Creates “Trikinis” - Bikinis With Matching Face Masks

We may not be able to get to the beach just yet, but many people are dreaming about when they can once again stick their toes in the sand. But when we’re able to take trips to the beach or pool, we’ll still have to stay safe and one Italian designer is doing her part to make it fashionable, too.TizianaScaramuzzo, owner of Elexia Beachwear, has created a bikini with a matching face mask, and she calls it the “trikini.”

The mom and swimsuit designer was forced to stop production on her bikini line when the coronavirus first hit Italy, so she and her family started making face masks with the material she had on hand. She joked with them about the sets being suitable for post-lockdown beach visits and posted photos of the trikinis on Facebook. After she got positive feedback on them, the trikinis were a go.

It seems people like the idea of coordinating their bikini and face mask and now orders are rolling in for them. That’s a good sign that people are remembering what’s really important, even in fashion - safety first.

Sales of pants drop, pajamas soar:Data shows that online purchases have skyrocketed since the coronavirus quarantine began, which shouldn’t be too surprising, since no one wants to go to stores. But what are folks actually buying? Well, since folks don’t have to go to the office or can’t go out socially, pajama sales have increased 143%, whereas pants sales have seen a 13% decline. Another thing people aren’t buying? Bras, with the prices dropping 12%. Seeing a huge spike – booze, with online sales for wine, beer, and spirits up 74% between March 11th and April 21st. Creative audio equipment sales were also up, a whopping 459% last month. Source:CNN
