Dad Blames “Evil Genius” Cat For Wife’s Pregnancy

The Internet is full of stories about accidental pregnancies, but one man is sharing one that doesn’t involve too many glasses of rosé or taking a trip to Baby Town after just one date. Instead, it’s their pet cat that brought him and his wife to baby number two. The couple had planned to have another child, but were going to wait a few years, but it seems their cat had other ideas.

In aReddit postthe guy shares that the feline is an “evil genius” who’s smarter than their one-year-old and that “no drawer, door, or cabinet can stop him.” Basically, if the cat knows where something is and he wants it, heWILLfind it. And one of his favorite playthings? Q-tips, which happen to be stashed in the same drawer where he kept his condoms. One day, the man found a “horrific scene” of chewed plastic straws, shredded cotton fluff and shiny foil condom wrappers scattered around and he cleaned it up and went on with his day.

But he probably should’ve thought more about that mess when he ended up grabbing a condom from that drawer later because a few weeks after this, his wife started feeling nauseous and suspected something was up. A string of pregnancy tests confirmed the telltale pregnancy symptom was right and she was expecting again. The parents thought they had been so careful … until the dad remembered the drawer incident and ran to check each little foil package. And sure enough, several had noticeable scratches, teeth marks and punctures in them. So thanks to the cat, they’re now having baby number two.

Pub Installs Electric Fence To Enforce Social Distancing: Some businesses are not messingaround when it comes to social distancing. in Cornwall, England, The Star Inn pub has installed an electric fence in front of the bar to force social distancing and to stop people from getting too close to the staff. LandlordJohnny McFadden, who is also a farmer, said, "It's there for social-distancing. Before the fence, people were not following social-distancing and were doing as they pleased, but now people take heed to the guidance around social distancing." The fence seems to work as several drinkers claimed to have been shocked by the fence after having one too many. The bartender said, "It's just a deterrent, but hopefully the sight of it will help keep people away. That's how it works with cattle too, animals see it and often don't want to test it."

Survey says one in five Americans' relationship would have suffered under shutdown without Netflix

While parts of the country are starting to get back to normal following months of COVID-19 lockdown, anew surveyreveals just how important streaming services were in quarantine.

In fact, one in five say their relationship with their significant other would have suffered under lockdown without Netflix.

A quarter say their mental health would have suffered while stuck at home if they didn't have the streaming service.

The non-scientific poll of 1,200 Americans commissioned by the online security company ExpressVPN revealed that streaming is the most important thing to them while in quarantine, with 33% admitting that -- this bests social media by a mile at 21%. Seventeen percent said online shopping was the main thing getting them through these times. Online games and fitness apps ranked as the least important.

No wonder you put on that COVID-15.

The poll noted that 1 in 5 Netflix subscribers love it so much, they'd rather give up ALL outside communication than give up their Netflix.

That being said, 40% of all Netflix users have signed up to a new streaming service as the lockdown rolled on: 44% have subscribed to Hulu; 35% Disney+; Amazon Prime Video 31%; YouTube 27%; and Apple TV+ at 21%.

Did You Know That There Is A Search Engine The Plants a Tree For Every Search? They Just Planted Their 100-Millionth Tree

For eleven years, the search engine Ecosiahas used most of the revenue from advertising on its website and app towards planting trees—and this month they planted their 100-millionth tree.

The German nonprofit was established for social good, has earned widespread praise for its founder Christian Kroll – and one reason is that they claim to plant more native species than any other mass tree planting effort.

The phenomenon of mass tree planting began in the early 2000s when scientists began hypothesizing that the increase in CO2 emissions could be countered by replenishing the world’s forests. Since then, projects like Africa’s Great Green Wall (and China’s Green Great Wall) or dozens of others in Asia, like this man who planted an entire mangrove ecosystem, have seen billions of trees planted over the last two decades—although many died due to improper planting or post-planting management efforts.

Ecosia often targets countries that are the most biodiverse, where tree loss directly corresponds with species loss. This has caused them to launch projects in Nicaragua and Peru, Burkina Faso and Malawi, and Indonesia and Australia.
