'Poop-Soaked Phone' Rescued From National Forest Toilet

Sanitation workers cleaning out a vault toilet in the Flathead National Forest in Montana said they found a "poop-soaked phone" at the bottom of the toilet tank and were shocked to discover it still works.

Tracy Kau of A-1 Sanitation said he and his team were cleaning out the tank of the vault toilet near Holland Lake when he spotted the iPhone 11 Pro at the bottom.

"I was kind of in shock. I was like 'Whoa, there's a phone,'" Kau told KRTV. "We tried to not just suck it up or whatever, and then we went to get the grabbers. We have some grabbers that can grab like bottles and stuff, Cody grabbed it out."

Kau and his teammates, Cody Evert and Tanner Stevenson, sanitized the phone, plugged it in and were shocked to discover it still worked.

The men said they were unable to get any information from the phone because the screen was locked, and employees at Verizon and Apple said they were unable to access the information on the device without the owner's permission.

Kau said the team was finally able to get some identifying information by popping the device's SIM card into another phone.

They left a voicemail for the phone's owner, a Helena resident.

A 3,000-Pound Triceratops Skull Named 'Shady' Excavated In South Dakota

College students found something they'll be talking about for years to come. The group excavated a seven-foot-long, 3,000-pound Triceratops skull while on a dig in South Dakota's Badlands this summer.

David Schmidt, an associate professor of geology and environmental science at the school led the group excavation dig, which included three current students and four alumni, at the Grand River National Grassland. On these annual excavation trips, students typically expect to find fragments of dinosaur bones and sometimes a complete bone. They never expected to find anything like this.

Using pickaxes, shovels, a telehandler, a backhoe, and a flatbed truck, they excavated the rare skull – they named it "Shady" after community members in the nearby town of Shadehill, South Dakota, and brought it back to campus. Shady now has a home there.

Pumpkin Spice Hard Seltzer Actually Exists

People can’t get enough of their pumpkin spice-flavored things, but we may have just reached peak pumpkin spice. We’ve seen the fall flavor on everything from Pringles to hummus, but brace yourself because the latest product to get the pumpkin spice makeover is ... hard seltzer. Yep, go ahead and roll your eyes because VIVE Hard Seltzer has announced they’re going there.

The company says they’re “tying into America’s love affair with pumpkin spice” and is releasing limited-edition six packs of the seasonal spiked beverage. If it sounds like a joke, it’s one that the boozy brand is in on. “VIVE Pumpkin Spice is likely going to be laughed at initially,” saysJake Rouse,co-founder and CEO of VIVE’s partner company, Braxton Brewing Company, “but when you try it, you’ll quickly understand why we’re thrilled to launch!”

So what does this stuff taste like? According to Rouse, it has “an incredible aroma” with hints of anise, cinnamon and of course, pumpkin. If you’re brave enough to sip one, VIVE’s Pumpkin Spice Hard Seltzer will be sold at Krogers in Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee starting in September.
