Well, there's finally an answer: Refrigerate it — always. "Ketchup no longer contains sodium benzoate and has less salt in it than it used to," says Susan Westmoreland, the Good Housekeeping Institute's Food Director. "Reducing these preservatives makes cold storage a must."
