Today is National Burrito Day
This year, April 6th is National Burrito Day! On the first Thursday in April, those of us who adore “comida mexicana” (that’s Mexican food) get to celebrate National Burrito Day! Now, it’s not an “official” holiday as recognized by Congress, but for those that love the chow – this is a glorious day.
Never had one? The best part is that you can fill them with whatever you like: beans and cheese, meat and rice, shrimp and rice with veggies – whatever you dream up gets stuffed inside a flour tortilla, folded and it becomes the perfect hand food.

Today is Plan Your Epitaph Day
April 6th is Plan Your Epitaph Day! Sure, it sounds depressing, but it’s not…and can even be a fun process. But why do you “need” one? If you don’t have one, someone else will just put your name and dates on your gravestone, period. Most people like having the last word – and this is your opportunity to have exactly that.
Your Epitaph truly gives the world the way YOU want to be remembered. There are some greats, which cause as much laughter as they do head-scratching. Consider the last words of one Johnny Yeast. “Here lies Johnny Yeast, pardon me for not rising.” One Ludolph van Ceulen had the first 35 digits of Pi inscribed on his tombstone, as he was the first to calculate this delicious sounding number out to that many decimals.
This day for reflection on our own mortality, but also, to consider what kind of legacy we want to leave behind for those who come after us. So take some time to think about where you’ve been, what you’ve done, and what you’d like to say to those who come after, and start taking strides to make sure your Epitaph is worth reading. To get you started, here are some funny Epitaphs of famous folks. Click HERE.
Today is National Caramel Popcorn Day
April 6th is National Caramel Popcorn Day! In January, we celebrated National Popcorn Day. On April 5th, we celebrate caramel. Why not put them together? Caramel popcorn is one of America’s favorite snacks – and for many people, this chewy caramel popcorn treat is an all time favorite.
Combining popcorn and molasses began in the early 1800s. Caramel was popular as well and with the production of Cracker Jack (which was introduced at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893), the popularity was ever increasing.
Caramel corn is an American confection made of popcorn coated with a sugar or molasses based caramel candy shell.
Some varieties, after coating with the candy syrup, are baked in an oven to crisp the mixture. Mixes of caramel corn sometimes contain nuts, such as peanuts, pecans, almonds, or cashews.
Pose With A Cat To Get More Tinder Dates
If you want to be the cat's meow on Tinder, you literally have to pose with a cat. According to dating experts, posing with a feline friend can make you more desirable. These guys are apparently befriending felines, too and even going so far as to buying and adopting them as pets!
According to the Pet Food Manufacturers’ Association, "The number of pet cats in the UK rose by 500,000 over the past year, with men and young people accounting for the growth.”
If that's not enough proof you should just go search the hashtag #hotdudeswithkittens on Twitter!

Do You Wash Your Phone Screen As Often As You Wash Your Hands?
Your phone is a breeding ground for germs. And what is especially unsanitary about it is how close you put it to your face and mouth on a regular basis. Mashable reported that every square inch of your phone has around 25,000 germs. That’s more disgusting than a toilet seat, which contains around 1,200 germs per square inch (if sanitized regularly). Think about that the next time you press your phone up against your face to make a phone call. “Your phone is exposed to everything you touch. What’s on your hands is on your phone. Health-care experts stress that washing your hands frequently with soap and water is the best defense against the spread of germs that cause sicknesses and viruses to spread,” shares Adriana Catinari, Product Manager at Whoosh!

Burger King And Starbucks Add Sweet Treats To Menu
If you have a sweet tooth, get ready for literal heaven. Burger King and Starbucks both announced new dessert drinks, and they sound incredible. First up is the announcement fro Burger King that they’ll be selling Fruit Loop shakes beginning April 17th. Yes, like the cereal. They'll cost you a cool $2.99.
Starbucks is taking their frap game to the next level by introducing the American Cherry Pie frappuccino. Oh, and aside from it tasting like literal cherry pie, it's topped with piecrust shaped like a lid so you don't get your frappy goodness everywhere. There is on catch, though. For now, this drink is only being served in Japan for a limited time from April 13th to May 16th, but watchers believe it’ll make its way over to the States soon!
