Brooklyn Cafe Sues Starbucks Over The Unicorn Frappuccino

It turns out one unicorn may not be so unique after all.

A New York coffee shop is suing Starbucks over that sweet, colorful "unicorn" drink. A shop called The End Brooklyn filed suit in federal court on Wednesday, claiming that Starbucks' "Unicorn Frappuccino" is a knock-off if its Unicorn Latte.

The suit says The End started selling its pink and blue drink in December and applied to register the name with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in January. Starbucks poured its Unicorn Frappuccino for five days last month, but the coffee house chain got so much publicity for the drink that, according to the lawsuit, social media and online publications treated The End's Unicorn Latte as a knock-off.

The End is looking for 10 million dollars in damages. By the way, what is actually in the drinks may not matter; it’s the presentation that is in question.Source: New York Post
