Today is Twilight Zone Day

May 11th is Twilight Zone Day! Its uniqueness was beloved by children, teenagers and adults that affected generations of people. Rod Serling first read these words on television in 1959:

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area, which we call the Twilight Zone.

In six years, he changed the American television landscape and captured generations of fans.

Woman Upset Husband Was Invited To A Wedding Without Her

Getting invited to a wedding without a guest is something most single people get used to, but it’s rare when a married couple don’t get invited to an affair together. It would seem odd if someone invited one half of a married couple to a wedding, but that’s exactly what happened to one couple and the wife is none too pleased.

A woman took to the UK site Mumset to reveal that her husband had gotten invited to a friend’s wedding without her. The woman was offended at the slight, and asked those on the site whether they think she had the right to be, and whether she’s being unreasonable to want her husband to skip the wedding because of it.

Believe it or not, the responses were a mixed bag. Many people supported the wife, adding that she shouldn’t have to ask her husband not to go, he should just skip it out of principle. Some admitted that it’s the bride and groom’s right to invite whomever they want, although they think leaving the guy’s wife off was “rude.”

But others don’t think there’s anything wrong with the one-sided invite. “It's not really rude to invite one half of a couple, especially if you're not close to one of them,” one person posted, while another added, “I hate all this ‘we're a unit, we're a double act, we come as one’ stuff, I do lots without my DP and we've both attended weddings without each other. It's perfectly fine.”

Microsoft Unveils A Watch To Help Parkinson’s Patients-It’s hard to believe a watch can help improve an ill person’s way of life, but that is the case with the Emma Watch.

Microsoft unveiled a prototype watch that can calm tremors stemming from Parkinson's disease. The Emma Watch was highlighted yesterday at the company's annual Build conference in Seattle. The watch vibrates in a certain way to disrupt the feedback loop between the brain and hand during shaking.

The device is named after Emma Lawton, who was able to write and sketch again thanks to the watch and Microsoft Research Innovation Director Haiyan Zhang who was given the task of making it all happen.

While only a prototype, the watch's designers are working with neuroscientists to start trials with people suffering from the disease. The watch uses sensors and artificial intelligence to monitor symptoms.

Survey Reveals Which Accents Men And Women Think Are The Sexiest

A survey from a travel dating service found asked both men and women, which accents they find the sexiest, and their responses are very different.

Long Story

Let's be honest, one of the best things about travel is hearing a local say your name. Chreese. Braud. Davige. Jo-well. Sigh...

Movies have long taken advantage of the sexy exotic accent to delight, and turn on its viewers. But which accent is the sexiest?

If you were to ask me point black, I'd probably guess guys would say French accents — I mean, it's the language of love. Or maybe Swedish, because blonde.

But according to a survey done by MissTravel.com a service that hooks up travelers looking for love, those two sexy accents don't rank in the top 3 for men.

The survey asked 1,164 American men the accents the find the hottest and here's what they said:

  1. Israeli
  2. Colombian
  3. Australian
  4. French
  5. Southern

No offense Israel, but I'm pretty shocked by this, especially cause it's such a small country. But hey, they've got that Mediterranean beach vibe thing going on.

Also kind of shocked by Colombian at #2. Not because saying the word 'papi' isn't the sexiest thing ever (I'm joking, sort of), but because I can't believe most American guys can distinguish a Colombian accent from, say, a Venezuelan or Mexican accent.

For women, the results get a lot more Game of Thrones-y. According to the 1,423 U.S. women surveyed, getting asked out for a cuppa tea will make them drop their pants on the spot.

  1. British
  2. Scottish
  3. Spanish
  4. Australian
  5. Southern

The fact that Southern, presumably Southern U.S, gets a shoutout for both men and women must make the people there happy. Good for them. Down Under also gets a nod by both sexes.

Woman Allergic To Her Own Baby

Pregnancy hasn't always been easy for Summer Bostock. A little over a month before welcoming son Izaiah, the British woman broke out into a painful rash all over her body. Eventually doctors told her she was "basically" allergic to her baby.

Technically, Bostock was diagnosed with polymorphic eruption of pregnancy, or PEP, which caused the rash. "I couldn’t even have showers, because the touch of the water against my skin was too much," Summer remembers. "I would vomit, the itching was so intense, and at night I couldn’t sleep."

The good news? The day after Izaiah came into the world, the rash disappeared. What's more, Summer went on to have two more sons and luckily the PEP never returned.
