Back-To-School Hack: How To Make Sure That Backpack Isn’t Heavy

Backpacks are essential in helping kids get through the school day, but they could cause harm too.

Every day about 80 kids are injured by their packs. Most of the time it’s due to being too weighted down. Here’s what you need to know; they should be no more that 10 to 15-percent of your child’s body weight. So if a kid is 50 pounds, the pack is not over seven and a half.

It’s not just what you put in the packs, it’s how you wear them. The top should not be lower that the shoulders. If your child comes home with too many books, try and resolve the homework issue with their teacher.

Happy schooling!Source: Today
