Men Who Get Blood From Pregnant Woman Have A Higher Death Risk

How about we call this the “You did this to me!” Syndrome?

There's a health risk for men who get blood donations from women who have been pregnant. Dutch researchers studied over 30-thousand people who received blood donations from six hospitals over a ten-year period. They tracked who the recipients got their blood from and then analyzed death rates for three years. The only difference they found was in men who received blood from women who had been pregnant. The study says those men were more likely than other recipients to have died after three years.

Scientists say when women become pregnant their blood creates an antibody that may cause severe lung problems. And that’s what many of the guys are dying from! Experts add there still isn't enough data on the role of pregnancy to support changing current blood donation policies.Source: Telegraph
