If you have extra cash to blow, or you just want to be prepared for the zombie apocalypse, Costco has just the thing for you. The company is selling an emergency food kit for $6,000 that will feed a family of four for an entire year. The doomsday food kit contains 36,000 servings of grains, fruits, vegetables, proteins, dairy products and more.
The package includes 600 cans containing milk, dehydrated potatoes, beef, chicken, corn, broccoli, apples, white rice, elbow pasta, pinto beans, instant butter powder, sugars, bananas, strawberries, onions and more.
The kit is designed to sustain four people with about 2,000 calories per day each, and the shelf life for the various items ranges from three to 30 years.
The wholesale club says everything will be shipped "discreetly" in two inconspicuous 6-foot-tall stacks of boxes, presumably so nobody judges you for your purchase. The description on Costco’s website reads, "Enjoy the comfort in knowing you have the essential foods your family will need to survive an emergency or natural disaster!"
Costco also has several other emergency food kits for sale ranging from $1,000 up to $6,000.
