Subway is shuttering hundreds of sandwich shops across the country. The fast food chain has confirmed they expect to close about 500 stores in North America this year.
Thing is? Subway is also planning to open over a thousand locations around the world. CNN reports that the company believes that in the coming years it will have a smaller, but more profitable footprint in the U.S.
Subway is one of the largest restaurant chains in the world with over 44-thousand locations.
