The trivia show “Paid Off” premiered on TruTV yesterday. The winning prize for answering questions correctly on the show is getting your student loan debt paid off. Critics of the show call it a cruel joke about a public crisis.
TruTV defends the show, and calls student loan debt a ridiculous crisis that deserves a ridiculous game show. Some 45 million Americans have student debt with 60-percent owing an average of 37-thousand dollars.
