Vodka Expert Says It Shouldn’t Go In The Freezer

Lots of us stash our vodka in the freezer, but it turns out, that’s not the best place to store it to get the full flavor potential. According to Francois Thibault, creator of Grey Goose Vodka, putting it in the freezer is one of the biggest mistakes people make with the alcohol. The problem is that such low temperatures subdue the flavor, so you’ll miss out on the “more sophisticated aromas and flavors.”

But on the flip side, if you’re drinking cheap vodka, keep it in the freezer to hide its “aggressive, burning notes.” So if you’re vodka is anything but premium, you’re probably doing yourself a favor by storing it in the freezer.
