United Pilot Pays For Stranded College Student's Flight

A teen who was stranded at the airport after her flight was cancelled got help from an unexpected source: a pilot for another airline. A video shared onUnited Airline's YouTubepage, explains thatKiana Coffin, 19, was flying back to school at Pacific University in Oregon when her flight on another airline was diverted to Seattle because of bad weather.

That airline put Kiana in a hotel room overnight and kind of forgot about her, her dad,Dave, explains in the video. But while she was talking to a TSA agent, United pilotRobert Fontesaw Kiana and thought she might need help. He asked if she was doing okay and she burst into tears and he has a daughter about her age, so he decided to see how he could help.

Unfortunately, United doesn’t fly from Seattle to Portland, but Fonte just told the agent to put it on his card. He paid for this stranger to fly home to “get Kiana where she needs to be.” She’s beyond grateful and so his her dad, Dave, who’s now texting buddies with Fonte, the man who saved his daughter.
