Study: 52% Of Americans In Relationships Using Dating Apps In Quarantine

Here’s some bad news for anyone that just matched with the “perfect person” on a dating app: there’s a decent chance you’re not the only one that thinks they’re marriage material. This new match's boyfriend or girlfriend would probably agree with you wholeheartedly that they’re pretty great. That is... until they found out their boo was hitting you up online.

A new survey has found that a surprising amount of people in relationships are logging into online dating sites during the lockdown. A whopping 52% of attached Americans admitted that they’ve signed up for a dating website in isolation. The caveat is that these folks stepping outside their relationship online also said they were not quarantining with their S.O.

But the revelations don’t stop there. A third of boo’d up Americans said they’ve also reached out to their ex in the rona-times and 54% of them admitted it “reignited a spark” with the old flame. In fact, the survey also found that more than 65% of both single and attached Americans who have had a virtual date in lockdown said at least one was with an ex.You know what they say about desperate times.

  • Lowered Expectations.According to the poll, 60% said they are willing to lower their standards and talk to someone outside their “usual type” in isolation. The thirst is real! Social distancing had two-thirds of the study craving any type of physical intimacy. So yeah, things might get a little wild when the stay at home orders are completely lifted.
