Badgers Pull Out Big 71-67 Victory Over Minnesota To End Regular Season

The Wisconsin Badgers ended the 2022-23 regular season on a high note with a huge 71-67 victory over Minnesota. They end the regular season with a 17-13 record and a 9-11 mark in Big Ten play.

It was a classic Badgers performance for this season. There was a long scoring drought, leading to a bitter back and forth close game that came down to the wire. This time, they were able to get the stops they needed, make the shots they needed, and pulled out the victory.

The Badgers big men led the way, dominating in the paint. Steven Crowl and Tyler Wahl both had 21 points and seven rebounds each.

As the game came down to the final minute, it was tied 62-62, but a Chucky Hepburn 3 pointer, the only 3 the Badgers made for the entire second half and only the second one attempted in the half, gave them the lead for good the rest of the way.

Wisconsin and Minnesota traded intentional fouls down the stretch, but Wisconsin made their free throws to pull away enough for a two possession lead, allowing them to back off from fouling and walk out of Minnesota with a win.

Now the Badgers will head into the Big Ten Tournament still looking to secure a bid to the NCAA Tournament. They're currently on the bubble and need to go on at least a little run in the Big Ten Tournament to rest easy that they should get a spot. Wisconsin will be the 12th seed in the Big Ten and will face the 13 seed Ohio State on Wednesday night at 5:30.
