People Who Like Spicy Food, Lead Spicier Lives

While some people just can’t deal with spicy food, for some there’s no such thing as too spicy, and a new survey finds that those who love their food hot, may also be living a spicier life.

A poll by sauce brand El Yucateco attempted to find a correlation between taste buds and lifestyles, and it seems those who like their food hot tend to be more adventurous, and that goes for the bedroom too. In fact, spicy food lovers have almost twice as much sex as those with milder palates, 5.3 times per month, as opposed to 3.2 times.

And that adventure doesn’t limit itself to the bedroom. Those who like things spicy are 45% more likely to have traveled out of the country than those with milder palates, plus they're six times more likely to have tried bungee jumping, and are also more likely to have gone skydiving, scuba diving or enjoyed a rafting trip.

  • The survey also finds that those who like spicy food are happier, more sociable and extroverted. They are also more likely to have hobbies like working out and camping, and tend to like jazz and rock music, as well as horror, thriller and action movies.
  • On the flipside, those who like their food mild tend to be shy, humble and anxious, they enjoy reading and watching TV, listen to country music and prefer their movies to be dramas, rom-coms and romance.

Man Lets Young Girl Drive Stolen Car To School: An arrest warrant has been issued for a northern Illinois man who police say allowed an 11-year-old relative to drive herself to school in a stolen rental car while he rode along. It seems that Khafilu Oshodi was in the passenger's seat when the eleven-year-old girl pulled in to the drop-off area at John J. Murphy Elementary School in Indiana on January 9. Employees of the school said the two girls then got out of the car, and Oshodi got in the driver's seat and drove away. To make matters worse, he was driving with a suspended license and the car was reported stolen earlier this month.

How Would You Like To Try The Krispy Kreme Challenge?

What is the Krispy Kreme Challenge? It’s 2400 calories, 12 doughnuts, 5 miles, 1 hour. The mantra of the Krispy Kreme Challenge epitomizes the test of physical fitness and gastrointestinal fortitude. What started as a challenge among ten friends has transformed into a nationally publicized charity race, and the number one tradition to complete before graduating from North Carolina State University. Participants begin the Challenge at the Memorial Belltower on the campus of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. Runners then travel 2.5 miles through historic downtown Raleigh to the Krispy Kreme located at the intersection of Peace and Person Streets, where they attempt to consume one dozen original glazed doughnuts. The hardest part of the Challenge awaits them as they run 2.5 miles back to the Memorial Belltower.

  • Do doughnuts and running sound like a good mix to you?

You Can Get Married At Kensington Palace

If you’ve always dreamed of being a princess or having a fairy-tale wedding, this is your chance. It turns out, you can actually get married at Kensington Palace and you don’t need to be a member of the royal family to do it.

This venue is available day or night, but only certain dates of the year, which makes it, “one of London’s most exclusive wedding venues,” according to the palace’s website. And not only can you tie the knot there, you can also have your reception at Kensington Palace and they have several options, depending on how many guests you have.

For up to 150 wedding guests, you can have your nuptials in the apartments of the palace or if your guest list is larger, you can invite up to 1,000 people and make things official in the orangery. Kensington Palace isn’t sharing the exact prices on their website, you have to inquire to find out, but E! has reported that hiring the venue for the day on a weekend will cost over $23,000.

That might not fit into every bride’s budget, but this is Kensington Palace we’re talking about. It’s not where Prince William and Kate or Prince Harry and Meghan said “I do,” but it is where both couples live, so you wouldn’t be too far from real-life royalty on your wedding day.

Study: Taller Women May Live Longer

Being tall has its advantages and according to new research, it could help women live longer. A large study from the Netherlands finds that women may be more likely to live to be 90 years old if they’re taller.

Scientists looked at the link between height, body mass index and exercise in close to 8,000 participants who were between 55 and 69 when the study began in 1986. They were all monitored until they turned 90 or they died, whichever came first. There were 433 men and 944 women who made it to the big 9-0 and the women who reached this age were taller, weighed less at the beginning of the study and had put on less weight than their counterparts who died sooner. The women who were over five feet nine inches were 31% more likely to live to be 90 than women who were five feet three or shorter.

So why are the taller ladies living longer than the shorties? Lead study author Lloyd Brandts says they can only speculate why height would be associated with reaching old age in women, but they think it “might be related to shrinkage, which is more common among women.”

And while taller women seem to have an edge when it comes to ageing, the study didn’t find the same to be true for men. For the fellas, physical activity levels seem to be more important, with those who exercise more than 90 minutes a day being around 39% more likely to live to 90 than those who workout less than 30 minutes. Women who exercise for 30 to 60 minutes a day were 21% more likely to live to 90 than those who did less than 30 minutes.
