Forget Goats, People Are Doing Yoga With Lemurs Now

These days you can find all kinds of crazy yoga classes to get your Zen on, from beer yoga where you actually drink a cold one, to rage yoga, where people curse and scream while stretching. There are even yoga classes where baby goats join in the fun, but if you’re really looking for the newest trend in yoga, you’ll have to head to the U.K. for lemur yoga.

You can now take a “lemoga” class at a luxury hotel and spa in England, where they have ring-tailed lemurs out there on the mats too. At Armathwaite Hall, the resort offers the sessions as one of its “meet the wildlife” wellness activities. The idea is that breathing and stretching with lemurs in the picturesque countryside will help you melt away all that stress from city life you carry around.

According toRichard Robinson, manager of the adjacent Lake District wildlife park, the cute, wide-eyed animals make ideal yoga partners. “When you watch lemurs, they do some of the poses naturally - that typical pose warming their bellies in the sunshine,” he explains. “It seemed to be a really good combination to encourage people to have a go and spend time with a lemur.”
