A couple in Austin, Texas is pretty much the living definition of couples goals.John Hendersonand his wifeCharlottehave a combined age of 211 years and were just named byGuinness World Recordsas the oldest living couple in the world!
The Hendersons have quite a love story and will be celebrating 80 years of marriage on December 15th. The lovebirds met at The University of Texas in 1934, where John was a football player and Charlotte was studying to become a teacher. After their wedding, they went on a honeymoon and spent just $7 on the hotel room.
Today, John is 106 and Charlotte is 105 and they’re both still very healthy and he exercises every day. And with 80 years of wedded bliss behind them, the couple knows a lot about the key to a long life and happy marriage. So what’s their secret? John says it’s all about living life in moderation and being “cordial to your spouse.”
